“Human-centered cities that ensure the quality of life and deserving to be lived in.”
Our work methodology incorporates community participation to develop and build cities and boost the responsibility of communities towards their heritage and identity, including improving urban style and encouraging communities to become more peaceful within their cities.
What We Believe In
Our Vision
“Human-centered cities that ensure the quality of life and deserving to be lived in.”
Our Values
Participation, Empowerment, Joint Achievement, Humanity, Innovation.
Our Cause
We add participatory and innovation to the city in a way that enhances its residents’ pertinence to it, through their exercise of rights and duties.
Our Areas of Work
These spaces allow communication enhancement between communities and strengthen their relations, as well as ensure greater interactions between its members to invest in common potentials in meeting its needs and improving its social and economic lifestyles in addition to achieving luxury.
Placemaking approach gives the “community aspect” to each of the planners, designers and engineers in #ASAS, on account that community members are an integral part of the place, and their participation in all its formation processes will contribute to its sustainability and strengthen their belonging to it.
At #ASAS, heritage is one of the main pillars that supports the achievement of sustainable urban development, and preserving the rich heritage within our cities is an important factor for peacebuilding and cohesion support between communities, because it preserves the diverse identities and cultures of the community and ensures their existence.
Innovative cities are cities that use technology in all of its forms to improve the quality of life, the efficiency of urban operations and services, and the ability to compete.
These advantages are supposed to be reflected in meeting the needs of current and future generations in terms of economic, social, environmental, and cultural aspects so that any city can acquire the ‘Smart City’ status.
The European Union has defined a precise vision for smart cities, based on 6 elements, which are: Smart Economy, Smart People who represent human and social capital, Transparency, Smart Participation in Decisions, Smart Transportation based on Modern Technology, Smart Environment, and Smart Life that cares about Health Conditions, Individual Safety and Enjoyment of Educational Facilities, Housing, and Good Social Cohesion.
Through nature-based solutions, such as green roofs, urban forests, green spaces and corridors, in addition to integrating nature into urban areas, especially residential and industrial areas, while providing many environmental, social and economic benefits and supporting communities to become resilient to adapt to climate change.
Healthy ecosystems play a critical role in reducing the negative impacts of climate change in urban areas. They have the ability to regulate the climate and mitigate temperatures resulting from global warming, in addition to enhancing and improving water storage capacity.
Work Methodology
In the Placemaking methodology, “ASAS” relies on people to form their vision about the place they aspire to live in and deal with, where work is carried out in the early stages through implementing participatory research and applying community tools that suit each age group in the region to achieve the highest possible level of inclusivity and community participation during the operation. After that, the data, opinions, and perceptions are analyzed and converted into proposals and ideas that represent each addition and category. These proposals will be a mirror that reflects the aspirations and hopes of the communities in their region. At this stage, interactive design tools are applied that aim to place every person in the community in a design role and thus, imagine places realistically. The design phase includes harmonization and compatibility between proposals in the research phase and human design requirements to find the most appropriate solutions. After the completion of the design phase, review, evaluation, and development take place with the community to issue the final form. The implementation stage is either by contracting with contractors or engineering companies and offices, and the engineering follow-up works are carried out by ASAS with people from the local community to ensure compliance with the design, or if there are people from the community who have the qualifications to carry out the implementation works. Their resources are invested in individual tools or skills supervised by ASAS.
